It is spherical, colorless and transparent when observed under a microscope, with a refractive index of 1.50-1.64. The diameter is generally between 75 microns and 1400 microns. So it is also called reflective glass beads. At present, the main processes for producing road reflective glass beads in China are flame float method and electrothermal fusion method. As the reflective material in the road marking (paint), road reflective glass beads can improve the retroreflective performance of the road marking paint and improve the safety of driving at night, which has been determined by the transportation departments of various countries. When the car is driving at night, the car lights shine on the road marking line with glass beads, which can make the light of the car lights reflect back in parallel, so that the driver can see the forward direction clearly and improve the safety of driving at night.
